Transform Lives, Restore Wilderness North

Refined by Fire

...so that the proven character of your faith—more valuable than gold which, though perishable, is refined by fire—may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.  1 Peter 1:7

Thank you for donating toward the rebuilding of Wilderness North after the devastation that the Minnesota wildfires left behind.  You are helping to keep TENTMAKERS training experiences happening this summer to equip and empower disciples of Jesus to live their lives on mission. As soon as we have clearance from the proper authorities, we will begin the rebuilding project and will need funds available as soon as possible.  Your timely contribution toward the rebuilding of Wilderness North will enable us to provide quality experiences for this summer's participants and guarantee them for the future.

Buildings

All 3 cabins that were destroyed - Matthew, James the Greater and Judas have all been rebuilt, walls, ceilings and wood flooring installed and finished, wood stoves installed and functioning.  All that remains is the LP Furnaces and the amenities.  The Lakefront Gazebo has been repaired and in good shape now.

Footpads

We had lost almost all of the boardwalks and some decks and stairs.  The boardwalks have all been rebuilt, the decks are in planning.  The Chazebo is also planned but plans are in play about construction materials.

Watercraft

Most of the boats have been replaced.  Canoes and kayaks are available.  We are still missing a rowboat or two for those who dread the "tippyness" of the smaller craft.

8.16.25  All three single cabins that were lost are rebuilt and the interiors are now being refurnished.  Construction on the A-Frame will begin next with the family cabin being the last major structure to be finished.

7.10.25  Construction should begin within a week on the main structures that were lost (A-frame, The Shelter (family cabin), and the 3 private cabins (Matthew, Judas, and James the Greater).  Two use kayaks, several life jackets and some paddles have been purchased thanks to your donations.  We have a need for about 6-8 more boats to get us back to where we were.  Reconstruction of the boardwalks, stairs, bridges and tent platforms are being accomplished, partially by our Leadership Quest participants.  Thank you for the donations so we could purchase the lumber and materials to accomplish this.  We still have the following needs:  more lumber, materials and labor to continue replacing the decks and other non-major structures that were lost (Gazebo, Chazebo, Boat House, Dock, Sauna and others) as well as boats, life jackets, paddles/oars, etc.  Thank you for your continued prayer and financial support.

6.11.25  We have found that insurance will not be covering as much as we had hoped.  We are still working with insurance and contractors to finalize the numbers.
6.8.25 Thanks to all who contributed to a successful day of removing debris and prepping areas for rebuilding structures. The areas where cabins were lost, the boardwalks were lost & where the Chazebo burned down were are all cleaned up and prepped as well as the decking on the lodge & mentor house removed. Special thanks to Bill whose skill with his Kubota Track Loader was so helpful for moving debris into the trucks for removal, for scooping up the charred remains of the Chazebo, for leveling the ground where the boardwalks, Chazebo & cabins used to be and even removing a stump by the mentor house!
6.2.25  Our insurance company has contacted us with an offer.  We are connecting with contractors to evaluate the offer & negotiate if necessary.  Once this process is finished we will know more of how much will be covered.
